Marcus J. Hershey, MD, is a board-certified otolaryngologist and surgeon at Houston Sinus Surgery in Houston, Texas.
Born in Texas and raised in Houston, Dr. Hershey spent his middle and high school years in Brazil, where he graduated from Graded High School, a renowned international baccalaureate school in Sao Paulo. He then returned to Texas to attend the Honors College at Texas Tech University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
While in college, Dr. Hershey worked in three research internships at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, including research on the effects of weightlessness on the body’s musculoskeletal and inner ear/balance systems. Before entering medical school, he spent two years teaching English in Japan. Dr. Hershey returned to Houston to attend Baylor College of Medicine at the Texas Medical Center. He then completed residency training at the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, specializing in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is a board-certified ENT doctor focusing on sinus and airway disorders.
Dr. Hershey loves providing patient-centered care and takes time to hear and connect with his patients. At Houston Sinus Surgery, he has a passion for nasal and oropharyngeal airway disorders, nasal congestion and obstruction, sinus dysfunction, chronic and recurrent rhinosinusitis, allergies, snoring, sleep disordered breathing and apnea. He provides definitive care for his patients through cutting-edge endoscopic and minimally invasive techniques.
When not in the office, Dr. Hershey enjoys traveling, faith and family, music, sports, the outdoors, and spending time with loved ones. He speaks Portuguese, Japanese, and Spanish.
