Balloon Sinuplasty

Balloon sinuplasty is an FDA-approved, minimally invasive surgical procedure that reverses the symptoms of chronic and acute sinusitis. Often caused by the inflammation of the sinuses, the procedure does not cut into the skin. Instead, blocked sinus passages are directly cleared to relieve patients from the discomfort associated with chronic sinusitis.

Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS)

Functional endoscopic sinus surgery, commonly referred to as the FESS procedure, is defined as surgery of the sinus through the vision of an endoscope. FESS sinus surgery is a treatment for patients with sinus problems who have not responded well to medications and conservative therapies. It is one of the most effective ways to treat a condition called chronic sinusitis – long-term inflammation of the sinuses.

Sinus CT scan

A CT scan of the face produces images that show a patient’s nasal and sinus cavities. The sinuses are hollow, air-filled spaces located within the bones of the face that surround the nasal cavity, a system of air channels connecting the nose with the back of the throat. A CT scan enables an ENT physician to view your four pairs of sinuses and the nasal passages they connect to with great detail

Sinus Surgery Revision

Revision endoscopic sinus surgery (RESS) is surgery that is performed for a second time because the first surgery either didn’t work or has stopped working. Sometimes a patient needs to have a repeat surgery because the first surgery was unsuccessful at relieving symptoms or because something new has developed as a result of the surgery.

Rhinoplasty

A rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that is performed to change the shape and internal structure of the nose. It can be performed for cosmetic reasons as well as to correct breathing issues. Most patients that undergo a rhinoplasty are unhappy with the physical appearance of their nose and wish to change it.

Sinus Surgery

When your acute or recurrent sinusitis doesn’t respond to conservative treatments, Dr. Yeung may recommend permanent relief through sinus surgery. The two most effective procedures are balloon sinuplasty and functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS). Balloon sinuplasty is an FDA-approved nonsurgical procedure that Dr. Yeung performs at Houston Sinus Surgery with either local or general anesthesia.

Turbinate Surgery

A turbinectomy is a surgical procedure performed to reduce the size of the turbinates inside the nose without impairing their natural function. Turbinates are soft-tissue-covered bony structures within the nasal passageways on each side of your nose. The turbinates function as natural air filters to trap irritants such as dust or pollen from the air you breathe.
